Public Mooches

You see it all the time, the couple that just can’t keep their hands off each other.  How do you feel about PDA? Are you one to kiss in public or are you a get-a-room kind of girl?

Call me crazy, but I am slightly–okay totally–obsessed with the back of a man’s neck. Abs are nice. Of course, a great smile and kind, sultry eyes make my heart skip a beat. But that small strip of skin from a man’s collar to his hair line–if it’s nice–drives me crazy! Any crazy places you obsess over…beyond the obvious?

Selfie Love

Our phones and social media accounts are full of selfies taken with our special someone.  This trend has grown tremendously over the last decade. Check out this classic selfie!  How awesome is that? Let me see your favorite couple’s selfie. Drop them in the comments!

The Kiss That Never Was

The kiss that never was is the one you played over and over in your head. It’s the one that was so close to your lips but never actually happened. Do you have a kiss that got away? Was it all for the best or does it haunt you like a friendly ghost?

Quiet and Busy

Yes, my blog has been quiet lately. But I promise I’ve been busy.

If you haven’t already, check out my posts at the Diamond State Romance Authors’ Blog. In Summer Reading our authors shared their recent reads and Outside Your Bubble we discussed the need for empathy in writing. I’ll be blogging at DSRA again October 8th about Strength (which segues nicely into my next topic).

I answered a short story call for submissions for Hot He-Men, the everyday heros who could boil the blood in our veins with a sultry gaze, with the story of Special Response Team leader, Donovan Wolfe’s lust for the Detroit PD’s lead crisis negotiator, Paige Cline. It’s super hot and will hit the editor’s e-mail inbox today! Fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed for its sizzling reception.

I finally worked up the guts to submit For All to See, my baby, also known as novel 1 to it’s first writing contest, Launching A Star. Finalist will be notified by November 12th. So, once again…fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed. The bright side to this contest is regardless of the outcome (finalist, winner, loser) I’ll receive critique/feedback on my manuscript from industry professionals, an editor and agent.

I arranged some family time, on a quick trip to Mississippi. 🙂

I’ve also been working on editing For All to See, beta reading for the Wild at Heart Anthology Volume 1 (My short story, Fierce Wild will be featured in WAH Volume 2.), keeping up with my three year old, working on a nursery for the gymnast in my belly, cooking, cleaning, working out, entertaining our now THREE dogs and squeezing in some QT with my honey. I’ve even read a little in the midst of it all: Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward, Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown and Evil at Heart by Chelsea Cain.

Suddenly, I’m feeling tired. Nap? Yes, please!

What fun, crazy, overwhelming, wonderful things have you done this summer?

Books, I Miss You!

Listening to audio books is not reading.

I love reading. But lately life and dream reaching have gotten in the way. Between writing, website construction and launch, raising of a three-year-old, nurturing of animals (two dogs and a horse), husbandly devotion, and a little me time my books have gotten lost.

I love audio books. But I fooled myself for a while thinking that the audio books I listened to on trips and recently during daily travels were enough. They’re not. There is something relaxing and exciting about seeing the words in front of you, be them on page or screen. The act of turning the page is intriguing. The pace you set is powerful; rabidly fast-paced trying to figure things out or slow and steady savoring each sentence, each action.

So, this week I vow to read a book. Now, what to read?
